Double Dutch

I see that the Dutch gambling regulator believes that it has sent a “clear message” to the world in handing out a €100,000 fine to a company based in Curacao for targeting the Dutch market and having taken “no appropriate measures to prevent the violation”.

I am sure they are right that they have.

It just might not be, as the chairman of the Netherlands Gambling Authority Jan Suyver believes, that “companies offering online gambling now know they can be penalised because licences are yet to be granted, and consumers know that those who do so are not being supervised by the government.”
